You hear something like three large firecrackers, or small explosions, or shots, or an engine backfiring from the direction of Farragut Park. There are screams and shouts. The lobby of 1700 K and other buildings around Farragut are suddenly flooded with pedestrians who had been filling the park. After a brief pause, three more sharp, explosive sounds are heard.

(This information is being provided to those participants who I understand are/or were in 1025 Connecticut, 1700 K, and 816 Connecticut or to Ambassadors who might be near the intersection of CT and K. If you have relocated from these buildings and are no longer in hearing range of Farragut, please disregard this information and do not pass it on to others.)

1435 Mr. Hood:

If you are still located at 1700 K and have visibility to the intersection of Connecticut and K you can see three bodies on the ground in front of the Metro Station at that intersection. At least one is in uniform. You can also see police officers who have taken cover with weapons drawn looking in your direction and elsewhere around the park. The crowd that had gathered in Farragut Park is scattering in panic.
